Remote & REMI Production

A lean on-site footprint, with switching and graphics done from a control room — useful for recurring shows and multi-site events.

remote production — live production

New York Live Streaming

Remote production, often called REMI (remote integration), keeps only cameras, audio and connectivity on site and sends those feeds to a control room elsewhere where a technical director switches the show, operates graphics and manages the stream. It reduces the on-site crew and equipment footprint, which suits recurring programs, tight venues, and events happening at several locations at once that need one consistent production. New York Live Streaming builds REMI workflows with resilient contribution links (SRT or bonded transport) and the same redundancy and monitoring discipline as an on-site production.

When REMI makes sense

  • Recurring or weekly live shows where a repeatable setup lowers cost over time
  • Multi-site events — several offices or venues cut into one program
  • Venues with no room or access for a full control position
  • Programs where the same production team should cover many events for consistency

The trade-offs

REMI depends on solid contribution bandwidth from each site and adds a small amount of latency, which matters for fast interaction between locations. It is not automatically cheaper for a one-off single-site event, where an on-site kit can be simpler. We help you weigh it honestly against a traditional on-site production for your specific case.

Capabilities we plan and integrate

  • Multi-camera switching

Live cut between multiple professional cameras with a hardware or software switcher and a dedicated technical director.

  • Multi-destination simulcasting

One encoded program distributed to several destinations at once (e.g. YouTube, LinkedIn, and a private page).

  • Backup / redundant streams

A second encoder and network path configured as an automatic or manual failover for the primary stream.

  • Stream monitoring

Continuous monitoring of encoder health, bitrate, dropped frames, and destination status throughout the broadcast.

Capabilities are scoped and confirmed per event. We do not claim certifications or assert a feature that has not been validated for your setup.

Frequently asked questions

Is remote production cheaper?
For recurring or multi-site work, often yes, because the control-room setup is reused and on-site crew is smaller. For a single one-off event it may not be — an on-site flypack can be the simpler choice. We'll tell you which fits.
How do the camera feeds get back to the control room?
Over resilient internet transport — SRT or bonded cellular — with error correction tuned for the network conditions at each site, plus local recording as a safety net.
Can you cut several locations into one show?
Yes. Each site sends its feeds to the control room and the technical director switches between locations as one program, with unified graphics.
Does REMI add delay?
A small amount, from encoding and transport. For most broadcasts it's invisible; for tight cross-site back-and-forth we plan around it or keep the interactive elements on one site.
