Connectivity is the design
We survey the course and test every carrier at each planned camera position. Positions get bonded cellular, a wireless link to a central Starlink-backed control point, or both. Nothing is assumed — a hole with three bars on your phone can still be unusable for live video under tournament crowd load.
Graphics and commentary
Leaderboard and hole/score graphics are driven from scoring data or entered by an operator. Sponsor graphics run on a schedule. Commentary can be on-course or from the control position, mixed into the broadcast.
What makes this event different
It's an outdoor broadcast engineering problem. Every camera position needs its own resilient uplink or a wireless link back to control, verified on site because coverage varies hole to hole. Power is generator or battery. Weather is a live variable. Compared with an indoor event, camera work is simpler but the connectivity and logistics are far harder.
Sample camera plan
- Camera 1Finishing green — wide and putts
- Camera 2Signature hole tee or approach
- Camera 3Roaming / cart-mounted follow camera
- Camera 4Awards / clubhouse for the presentation
Spread across the course; positions depend on the holes you want covered.
