New York Live Streaming

A teleprompter puts a speaker's script on a piece of glass they read through while looking down the lens or at the audience, scrolled live by an operator who follows the speaker's pace. New York Live Streaming provides operated teleprompting for scripted corporate remarks and video shoots: a presidential rig at a lectern, a through-lens prompter for pieces to camera, or confidence monitors for the stage — each with a dedicated prompter operator, on-site script formatting and last-minute edits, and a rehearsal so delivery is smooth. It is booked as part of a production or as a standalone service alongside another crew.

Which teleprompter setup fits the event

SetupWhat it isUsed for
Presidential (lectern)Two glass panels on thin poles flanking the lectern; the speaker reads through them while facing the audienceCEO remarks, keynotes, investor days, award-show hosting, panels with a scripted intro
Through-lens / on-cameraA single glass at 45° over the camera lens with a hood; the speaker reads while looking straight down the lensExecutive video messages, PSAs, product-launch films, spokesperson and testimonial shoots
Confidence monitorsDownstage or foldback screens showing the script, the slide, or a countdown clock — no glass in front of the speakerLonger stage programs, worship and government meetings, moderators, speakers who prefer no glass

The operator and the script are the service

Hardware without an operator is a screen. The value is a prompter operator who has the run of show, formats the script into readable prompter blocks, tracks which speaker and which segment is next, and scrolls to the actual pace of delivery — slowing for emphasis, holding on a hard line, catching a skipped paragraph. Executives change wording minutes before they go on; we edit the running script on the spot without losing the speaker's place.

  • Script intake in advance, formatted for prompter reading (line length, punctuation for breath, ALL-CAPS or mixed case to the speaker's preference)
  • Multiple speakers and segments cued in order, with markers for video roll, applause breaks and Q&A
  • Live edits on site — a producer or the speaker's team dictates the change, the operator makes it before the segment
  • A brief rehearsal or walk-through with each speaker so the scroll speed and eye line are comfortable
  • Coordination with the switcher and stage manager so prompter, IMAG and presentation stay in sync

Rental vs. operated

We provide teleprompting as an operated service — the setup comes with a technician. Dry-hire (equipment only, no operator) may be possible for known clients with their own qualified operator; ask during planning. Either way the specific prompter, glass size, monitor and mounting are confirmed for your lectern, camera and room rather than assumed.

We confirm exact prompter models, monitor sizes and mounts during planning against your camera package and stage. We do not publish a fixed rental catalog or claim inventory we can't verify.

Capabilities we plan and integrate

  • PowerPoint / presentation integration

Presentation graphics taken as a clean feed (HDMI/SDI/NDI) and composited into the program with picture-in-picture or full-frame.

  • Professional audio / sound reinforcement

Wireless and wired microphones, a digital mixer, a dedicated audio engineer, and separate broadcast and room mixes.

Capabilities are scoped and confirmed per event. We do not claim certifications or assert a feature that has not been validated for your setup.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a presidential and a through-lens teleprompter?
A presidential rig uses two glass panels on poles beside a lectern so the speaker can read while addressing the audience — the classic conference and keynote setup. A through-lens (on-camera) prompter mounts a single glass directly over the camera lens so the speaker reads while looking straight into the camera, which is what you want for filmed executive messages, spokesperson and testimonial shoots.
Can you edit the script on the day, right before someone speaks?
Yes — that's normal. The operator makes wording changes to the running script on site, on a producer's or the speaker's team's instruction, before that segment goes on, without losing the speaker's place in the rest of the program.
Do you provide the operator, or just the equipment?
Operated is the standard booking — the setup comes with a dedicated prompter operator who runs the script and scrolls to the speaker's pace. Equipment-only (dry-hire) may be possible for clients who bring their own qualified operator; confirm during planning.
How many speakers and segments can one operator handle?
A full conference session with many scripted speakers and video rolls is routine for one operator when the run of show and scripts are provided in advance. Very fast back-to-back changes across multiple stages may warrant a second operator — we scope that from your agenda.
Can the teleprompter also show slides or a countdown clock?
On confidence monitors, yes — the downstage screen can show the script, mirror the presentation, or run a speaker timer / countdown. The presidential and through-lens glass panels show the scrolling script only; slides live on separate confidence monitors.
How far from the lectern can a speaker stand and still read a presidential prompter?
Comfortable reading distance depends on glass size and text size, but presidential prompters are designed for a speaker at the lectern; step much beyond arm's reach and the text gets hard to follow. For a roaming presenter, confidence monitors at the front of house are the better tool.
Can you prompt a remote or hybrid speaker?
A remote speaker presenting from their own location generally uses a small prompter or a scrolling document on their machine. We can advise on a setup and cue them, but the operated glass rigs are for presenters who are physically on your stage or in the shoot.
